Title: My new web site
Post by: Patrice Terrier on July 12, 2009, 05:40:08 PM
I am in the (slow) process to rewrite my web site.

I was ashamed by the poor graphic quality of my previous one, that was conceived in the last century, when lucky people had only a 56kb modem.

This new one is written with Dreamweaver CS4, and everything is CSS based (Cascading Style Sheet) plus some nice java scripts to spice it up.

You are the first to see it there (http://www.zapsolution.com/)

So far it has been checked only with Internet Explore 8 and FireFox, if you use another browser i would be glad to know if it works with it.

Comments and suggestions are also very welcomed :)

Hi Patrice,

Site looks very good to me! I am using the Opera Browser and it seems to render correctly.

Here are a couple of things to change in the english on the main page:

"Aside of programming tools" should be "Aside from programming tools".

"since the early days of micro computer" should be "since the early days of the micro computer"

When I go into "GDImage" and click on the "Order" button, I am taken to the order form for the "PhotoComposer" product instead of GDImage: http://www.zapsolution.com/pcfrmus.htm

When I'm deep into your site, I would have expected to click on your "ZapSolution" graphic at the top of the page to take me back to the "Home" page. It doesn't. It just add a placemarker "#" to the end of the URL.

:)

Thanks, to all of you who gave me their feedback.

Did you had problems to find and/or understand how to use the "carousel" to display the thumbnail selector in the showroom and wallpaper section?

I would get rid of the top white 'gradient'.
it shows to much during first scroll.

Paul,

I just checked my new web-site with the Opera browser, and i found several issues with it.
For example in the WinDev section the mouse hover doesn't work correctly (to display the popup details) when you scroll down the window.

So far, Fire fox 3.5, is the best for both speed and compatibility.

State of the Art !!

I use Fire fox 3.5 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 and both browsing fine, but it seems
Fire fox is a bit faster on your Site.
